2006 Hair Style Trend - Hairdos to Complement Your Crowning Glory

Hair style trend is notoriously fickle. One day, the latest hairstyle trend may be long flowing tresses while, the very next day, the bald look may be back in vogue. The 2006 hairstyle trend emphasizes a no-frills, chic look. And as always, the 2006 hairstyle trend is heavily inspired by celebrity hair style that are currently the rage.

The 2006 hairstyle trend predicts the short hair style or the pixie look and the formal hairdo will rule the roost. The short hair style looks adorable and is easy to manage. The formal hair style looks dignified and can be anything from a simple knot, ponytail or plait to the hair worn loose.

The variations are aplenty whether you choose a short hair style or a long hair style and it is always worthwhile to take the opinion of friends and acquaintances and of course, the hair stylist.

Celebrity hair style had been the most significant determinant of the 2006 hairstyle trend. You have David Beckham from the sporting fraternity and movie bigwigs like Kate Winslet and Tom Cruise, who have been elevated to the status of style icons of our age. Thus whatever be the celebrity hair style, it becomes a trend.

This year at the Golden Globe Awards, the rage was Hilary Swank's "million dollar" slick pony tailed hairdo and Cate Blanchett's fragile, touch-me-not look with mid-length curls. Kate Winslet looked a stunner at the 11th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, with her hair pulled back in a bun and soft curls framing her face. The 2006 hairstyle trend will continue to be set at the Oscars

too.

Hair style trend may come. Hair style trend may go. But some hair style trend stays on forever. And they are the classics. One such hair style is the Versatile Cut, which is a layered cut with short hair underneath and longer hair above and looks great both gelled and free flowing.

Another timeless hair style trend is the Dimensional Shag - a versatile cut with fringes and sides lends to both long and short locks. The look can be made more alluring with a dash of color on the top or underneath and around the face.

The 2006 hairstyle trend incorporates such classic hair styles as well. However, it is foolhardy to be a weathervane and follow every trend. At the end of the day, what matters most is how well the new hair style trend flatters you.

So if you have a round face and a stocky neck, steer clear of Cate Blanchett's hairstyle. Instead, pull your hair back and up off your neck. A large face looks thinner with bouncy or wavy locks.

Following the latest hairstyle trend is fine as long as you don't look like having a bad hair day. If the choices don't suit you, feel free to experiment and who knows, even you might end up setting a 2006 hairstyle trend.
